Poconos Mountain Resorts

The Poconos are part ofPennsylvaniathat is located in the northeastern part of the state. The Poconos is an Indian term meaning “stream between two mountains.” The Poconos are mainly located inMonroeCountyandPikeCountybut they are also located in parts ofWayneCounty,CarbonCountyandGreeneCounty. The Poconos run 2400 square feet that overlookDelawareValleyto the east, are bordered byLakeWallenpaupackon the north, theLehighValleyto the South and theWyomingValleyon the West. The Poconos have a population of around 340,400.

             Poconos mountain resorts are all situated in the 2,400 square miles that make up thePocono Mountains. ThePocono Mountains is perfect to visit any time of year with their 170 miles of winding rivers, 261 miles of hiking trails, more than 35 golf courses and over 163 skiing trails. Other activities to partake in while staying at a mountain resort include snowboarding, snowshoeing, boating, state parks, white water rafting and fishing, just to name a few.

             Poconos family resorts run the gamut as far as resorts go. One Pocono resort actually has a giant indoor water park, guest rooms that include kids’ cabins and a rustic lobby area. The indoor water park has waterslides, a wave pool, a lazy river, a water roller coaster and a 1,000 gallon tipping water bucket. Another popular resort is located on 1,000 acres which families can enjoy summer activities such as lakeside entertainment and a water park. Wintertime activities include snow tubing, downhill skiing and ice skating.
